Serving

Had the awesome pleasure of serving alongside hard workers, leaders and people of God today.

When I signed up to serve, I had to make a choice between serving at the church or serving a Lifegroup member and friend’s nonprofit. I chose to serve at the church.

Little did I know that in helping the church serve others, God would lead me to the path (or table) that also enabled me to serve my Lifegroup member and friend’s nonprofit, Tonya Hill Allen and Diane’s Heart.

Not only did I enjoy myself, I served with a team that understood the assignment: we’re not done until we’re done. All bags accounted for and ready to go, was our motto.

We worked in unison, making sure each bag contained the same amount of products. When we ran out of something, dedicated team members went in search of adequate replacements. And the young people on the team were just as excited about filling the bags as each adult.

Now, for the part that truly blessed me. I had a choice to make to either help a group or an individuals group- if that makes sense. I prayed about it and felt led to help the group. Little did I know that God already knew that the individuals group was going to be a part of the group that I volunteered to help.

So when I say, “But God,” what I really mean is that God not only knows, He’s already made a way. I no longer “but God, I don’t want to do that- whatever He’s leading me to do, at the beginning. I wait for the “But God!” at the end of my obedience.
