Take home statements – Week Ten and Eleven:
Week Ten: Forgiveness is a choice. I chose to forgive my siblings for the rejection I “felt” and received from them. AND I chose to forgive myself for the blame I placed on Me because of the “feeling” of being alone.
Week Eleven: God will allow you to live on the level you choose to live on.
Tonight in class, I “felt” the rejection from my Sistas who were on the other side of the class.
What had happened was… we were informed that we should think about getting T-shirts for our upcoming two-day retreat. One of my Sistas stated that her daughter does shirts. And since I already had a design created, I put the design in the group chat so that everyone could see.
The picture got hearts and thumbs ups… until it got a suggestion for something completely different. Unbeknownst to them, I’d already created the suggested design as well. However, because of the rejection I “felt” – and there may have been a look or two, in there too, I kept quiet.
One of the hosts made a statement early on during class that resonated with me while it was “feeling” like my idea was being rejected. She said: “you can throw money at people, but money won’t change their spirituality – the Word will”.
Later on during class, I got the chance to talk about how on yesterday, as I read the lesson, God revealed to me the rejection I “felt” with my siblings. Several questions were asked of me about my handling this revelation. As I talked, it appeared that my Sistas, who were on the other side of the class, saw how their actions and words could have triggered a sense of rejection in me.
So, as we closed out our session with worship and prayer, I could hear God whisper to me: I got you!
