Domestic Violence Month

If you are in an environment that’s not safe for you and those in your care, don’t be afraid to reach out for help.

There are organizations ready and willing to help you.

There’s no need for you to walk alone.

There’s no need for you to be afraid.

For every single one of your troubles, every single one of your doubts, allow someone to come along side you to offer assistance.

Thank you for this opportunity to stand in faith with you knowing that every day and in every way, things will get better and better. In Jesus name, Amen.

Let me tell you that God knows exactly what He’s doing. When it came time to schedule this post, God had already brought me to a place of healing from the domestic violence relationship I experienced in my past.

In fact, today was a two-for-one for me. I didn’t see the connection between my mental health struggles from my childhood and the domestic abuse I went through in my young adult life until today. September was Mental Health Awareness Month, and God took me way back – even before the abusive relationship, to where I was contemplating ending my own life in my teens.

To present day where I experienced a health scare that landed me in the emergency room. Even though my life doesn’t look like the way I’d planned it from a young age, I’m still here to tell my story. I wasn’t able to end my life in my teens. This man couldn’t end my life in my twenties. And negative health symptoms weren’t able to get me to agree with them that my life was about to end.

No matter the situation you find yourself in at this present moment, be encouraged to know that you are not alone. Others have walked the path that you are navigating and have come out completely whole on the other side.
