Just in Case

Riding in to work one morning, I saw these clouds in this clear blue sky. Nothing wrong with that. But on today when I pen this post, something is brewing.

There’s talk of a possible shippers strike and people are out in mass trying to buy needed essentials Just in Case things get bad…again. Remember the Pandemic? We stood in long lines hoping enough supplies would still be available when we were able to enter the stores.

I, however, was prompted last week to take this day off work. So when I got the group text message this morning, I wanted to overlook it. There had been a situation to arise last week and I assumed that God had this day off work already planned for me because of that.

Then I got another text message from a friend about the strike. Ok, I’m good. I have a few things here already at the house. Then, as I watched a YouTube video, the lady started talking about the strike as well. Hmm. Maybe I should pay attention.

I decided that I would venture out to buy the items needed to replenish the limited quantity of some items that I already have; but hadn’t budgeted to buy until next month some time. Upon seeing the number of people out purchasing in bulk – as in the Pandemic, I knew that the situation that happened last week was not the only reason God had prepared me to be off work today.

In fact, He’d already prompted me to take off work BEFORE, the situation even happened. He knew that eventually, I would take heed to the way He had been leading me and that I would make the right decision needed for me, Just in Case.
