Take home statement Week Eight:
When you speak words of life, Life begins to show up.
I had an epiphany as I read this week’s lesson. In the lesson, there was a chart with two columns. On one side was Words of Death. And on the other side was Words of Life. On the Death side were the words: You’re selfish.
Years ago, I had a family member speak those very words to me at a time when that family member should have been celebrating my success. Those words have stuck with me all this time; until I had the ah-ha moment while reading the lesson.
The same speaking power that God has – He created the earth, He gave to Adam – who used that power to name all the creatures of the earth, and God also gave that power to me – His child. Therefore, I have the power to not agree with Words of Death.
We all do! So the next time you hear of a group of people using words in a negative way, that Adam has already assigned to creation, ie: monkey, know that that’s a perversion of God’s original intent for that word. Choose to speak Life.
