O C D

On Complete Display

What’s drawing your attention in this painting are the Highlights. They add depth and are very pleasing to the eyes. Drawing your attention to its beauty. Hopefully making you wish you were there – wherever there is, in the painting. But what you don’t see is the process it took to get to this point. That’s what I want to discuss today… the process.

A Group and I went to the Venue with the intent to create something beautiful on canvas. However, we soon learned that what appeared to be an easy task was going to take much thought and creativity. We all started with the same materials but we didn’t all end with the same finished product. The process brought out my O C D and I soon realized that I was On Complete Display.

Later, upon closer reflection, I saw the parallel with the manifestation of Gods blessings in my life and the process I went through to complete this painting. There’s first the murmuring about someone else’s blessing being BIGGER than another persons. Next comes the isolation and mistrust among the members because of the perceived difference. Then there is the total withdrawal of fellowship from both sides because one person seems more blessed than the others.

If you look close enough, you’ll see the process. Everyone starts with the needed materials and the same Helper at the beginning of any project. If there are adjustments that need to be made, You have to ask for the help you need. Then when it’s time to finish the project, the Helper will always add Highlights to enhance the project because You are being taught by the Helper – not the other way around. Just because you’re in a group, don’t automatically assume that everyone is following the same process.

So, the next time you are On Complete Display because someone is insecure knowing that God has favored, blessed and helped you, don’t belittle your blessing. The process you had to go through to get the beautiful finished product that you desired qualifies you to not be so concerned about someone who’s only looking at your Highlights and not your process.
