Marry the Vision

I recently heard someone make the statement to “Marry the Vision, but date the Method”. He said that the methods you use can and will change as you grow and develop. However, the vision should remain the same. To not be so inflexible when it’s time to or you need to change methods.

At the time that I’m writing this post, my method in an area is changing. Sure, I wanted to continue to do what I see others are doing because I see the great results they are achieving. But this particular method they are using is not working for me. It’s causing me unnecessary frustration, taking away time that should be devoted to making my dreams come true. And, if I’m totally honest, I don’t see this platform lasting for much longer.

I don’t know how or when, I just know. I have this inner witness telling me that this method is not the best method for the path I’m to take. Don’t think that it was easy for me to let go of this method. I just had to keep reminding myself of the bigger vision. To purpose in my heart to continue to trust that God knows exactly how to help me bring the vision to pass.

God hasn’t brought me this far for me to settle for less than His best. I’m reminded of one year ago when I put up my Christmas tree two days after Christmas. Through that process, I saw the method of how I experienced the holidays change. It was a breaking down but also a building up season in my life. The same with this change in method used to bring forth the vision God has given me.

This season will see growth, increase and no loss because I’m married to the vision.
