I know you’re thinking, July is almost over, it’s too late to host a giveaway now. Maybe or maybe not. However, this post is not about a Christmas in July giveaway. This post is about how I’ve reconsidered the execution of giveaways in the month of July.
Last years Christmas in July giveaway caused me to self evaluate and consider which was greater; my desire to be a blessing to others or my desire to have others validate the fact that I was a blessing. Wow, I really wrote that… yes I did. Because I almost gave up because the participation in the last giveaway was dismal at best.
Not only was the participation low, I had inquiries made that implied that they would enter the giveaway only if they were guaranteed a win. Thing about that is, that’s lying, cheating and stealing. All of which is not a part of who I am or my brand.
That being said, for the month of July this year – and going forward, I’ve been hosting a Christmas in July every week where I’ve just given away the sponsored items to people in my city and at events. This way, my desire to be a blessing is fulfilled regardless of participation from others. That’s not to say that at some point I won’t host an active giveaway again.
