Lord Help Me

I can tell you exactly when my life started to turn around in my favor. I was driving to work one morning, praying in the Spirit. In the back of my mind I was thinking about an unresolved situation. As I was rounding a curve, I heard God speak to me. He said, “Will you let me help you?” What?! That’s why I’m praying because I’m expecting You to help me. Then I thought about it. Had I asked God to help me or had I just assumed that He would because He had helped me before? I immediately prayed and asked God for His help.

Next thing I know, the people on this end of the situation that ghosted me after I presented all my evidence to support my case – hence the reason I needed help, no longer were a source of frustration. I was led to make a phone call to the people on the other end of the situation and received immediate help from the representative. I explained all that I had encountered on my end and was reaching out to see if there was something they could do on their end. I was given a date to call back by in case I hadn’t heard back from the person I needed to speak with in so many days.

Before the date came that I was to make the phone call, I received an email notification that the money had been received. What? I didn’t make a payment and especially not a $5,000 payment. I quickly logged in to my account and sure enough, there was the credit showing on my account. I’d been going back and forth with the people on this end for months about this situation while getting the run-around from them until they finally ghosted me. But one prayer of help to God rectified the situation in a couple of weeks.

I don’t know about you but that situation taught me to not just assume what God will do if I haven’t talked to Him about it. Now, I gather the facts, find the principle or promise in God’s Word then I pray to Him about it: so that we can be on the same page about the expected end.
