Everything shouldn’t be about race. However, in todays culture, race is definitely an issue. My coworkers and I would at times have discussions where someone would make the statement “mind your business”. Well, with me being the one to make it a joke, one day when that statement was made, I interjected that I was Minding My “Black” Owned Business. Like I said earlier, race shouldn’t be an issue. I was on a certain platform where I made that statement and thereafter, many of the videos that appeared in my feed were of African culture; even though I didn’t follow that type of content. Hmm…

I know there will be some opinions regarding whether or not I should have created this shirt. Believe me, I was the first one with reservations. However, when I read 1 Thessalonians 4:11 NLT, I knew that it could not only be created but should be created. It was my personal spin on a statement that resonated with me when I spoke it. The same could be said about when a certain coworker would tell me to calm down. I would immediately tell her that I wasn’t calmed up: My personal spin on the statement made.

That being said, the inspiration I receive when I see the above picture of the products I have created simply amazes me. Just knowing that what I once thought was impossible (or possible for someone other than me), is now my manifested reality makes me ready for whatever this business venture may bring my way. I’m hopeful that many will understand the spirit behind the words and take note as they pursue their own endeavors in life. If you wait for everyone to be on board with what you (and God) have planned for your life, you won’t get very far in life. Take some time starting today and mind your (you fill in the space) owned business.
