Impact along the Journey

Impact along the Journey

I’m by no means a sports fanatic. But I was a member of the marching band from my Sophomore year in high school until my Senior year. The only thing I knew about the football games was that when we scored, we were winning. Fast forward to my college years and one of my friends explaining to me the meaning of each down, plays and positions during football games. That being said, I’m still not an expert but I have learned a thing or two from football.

Today, I’m not talking about the game itself, but the players and their desire to win. I have a blog post titled Facing the Giants that would be a good read to learn about opposition in life. However, the football game that I’m referring to just happened yesterday. The quarterback on the team has overcome much opposition in his own football career; I first learned of him when he played in college and the reasons that brought him to the forefront of the public eye.

Now to see him practically rally people from all walks of life together believing in the power of the “underdog” to win the biggest game played: Phenomenal! Although the outcome may not have been the one he was expecting, I’m here to tell that the Impact along the Journey that he had on people far outweighs what he – and some who are only concerned with a “title”, could have ever thought or imagined. Like I said when I started writing, I’m not a sports fanatic, but to see this young man cross racial and financial lines to restore hope to the hearts of people to the point where we were on one accord was inspiring. Regardless of what side you were on, you could feel the heartbeat of the desire to overcome the obstacles and barriers placed upon him and his team to win.

Never underestimate your Impact along the Journey because you never know who you will inspire.
