“Is that him calling again? I know it’s been four times in the last hour. Why don’t you just answer him? asked Melody. “I’m tired of him yelling at me. I told him when he calms down then maybe we can talk” said Diana. “Why is he mad and what has he been yelling at you about? questioned Melody. “He says that I embarrassed him by not going on that weekend trip with him. That his friends expected him to show up and because I was in my feelings about needing my own room, we ended up not going” replied Diana. “I’m not even going to respond to that” Melody calmly stated.
“Why are you all quiet now? I thought you agreed to this weekend getaway so that we can spend more time together” asked Eric. “I did agree because I wanted to make up for the last trip we missed with your friends. But I don’t like the way you keep pulling on me when we’re around your friends. It’s like you’re trying to prove that you have control over me” said Diana. “Well, from the way I see it, I do!” declared Eric. “I am a grown woman and you have no right to think you can control me…” started Melody as Eric grabbed her arm and pulled her toward him.
“You have a new patient coming through admissions Melody” said the Unit Secretary. “OK, I’ll get the Tech to get the vitals on my patient in room M9 so that I can receive the new patient” replied Melody. “ I already looked over the admissions orders and wanted to give you a heads up. The patient has been badly beaten and I know that you volunteer at the Abuse Center. From what I can gather, she was beaten at least a day ago but was only brought in today” supplied the Unit Secretary. Receiving the chart from the Secretary, Melody was stunned when she read the patient’s name on the chart: Diana Thomas.
