Reversed – Part 3

“Hi Glen, how are you?” “Violet, are you okay? Is there something wrong?” asked Glen. Laughing, Violet responded, “Glen, I’m good. Just thought I’d give you a call. Nothing is wrong. Was hoping maybe we could talk a while. You know, get to know each other a little better” hesitantly stated Violet. “Sure, we can talk. I have time and there are some things I’d like to talk to you about too” said Glen.

“What! You have got to be kidding me” declared Nolan. “He really said that he didn’t see you two being compatible enough for a lasting relationship.” “Yes, he did.” said Violet. “I asked him why and he said because I was to forward in my pursuit. That even though you told me that he was inquiring about me, I should have allowed him to pursue me. And not the other way around.” stated Violet. “So, what did you say to that?” asked Nolan. “What could I say? Ultimately it wouldn’t work out because I would always second guess myself anytime I initiated anything with him. I think it’s best I found out now.” said Violet.

“Even though we’re not ready yet for the world to know how much we’ve come to care for each other, I’m so glad that you approached me first. Even though you knew I was interested in you, you also knew that I was still healing from my past relationship. Sure, it took some time for us to get to this place. But after seeing how my friend was blindsided by the guy she was interested in simply because she made a move before he did, makes me even more sure that communicating about expectations in relationships is so important.” said Nolan to the woman he was sure he was falling in love with.
