“You aren’t ready yet? We’ll be late to Robert’s prelaunch for his business if you don’t hurry up.” stated David. “I’m almost done” replied Olivia. “I don’t see why we have to be there in the first place. It’s not like you’re part owner of this business anyway. I don’t know why you didn’t accept Robert’s offer to join” remarked Olivia. “Because I already have a career that I love. One day I plan to branch out on my own, but right now, it’s time to celebrate with Robert” stated David. Rolling her eyes, Olivia said “I’ll be ready in a minute.” “Yeah, right” David said sarcastically under his breath.
“Everything looks good and the people are waiting to get in” supplied Tina. “Yes, everything does look good. I can’t believe that I’m finally here. After years of planning and getting nowhere, today is the day that I realize one of my dreams” said Robert looking intently at Tina. Not sure of his exact meaning, Tina says “I’m glad I am here to experience it with you. Who would have guessed that night when you first called me that we’d be at this place a year later?” queried Tina. “About that night and this place”started Robert. “We both have grown not just as friends but now also in business. I want to thank you for helping me with my parents and their store and also with me and getting my business off the ground. Tonight is special to me in more ways than you can imagine and…” “I hope you’re not about to propose to her because that would be tacky!” interrupted Olivia.
“Man, I’m sorry that we’ve interrupted your moment with Tina. We came in early so that I could congratulate you on your success but it appears that now I have my own business to handle” said David. Taking Olivia by the arm, David ushered her back out of the building. “What is wrong with you? Better yet, what is wrong with me?” yelled David. “I can’t do this any longer with you Olivia. You have issues that are totally unrelated to me and you won’t even try to get help in dealing with them. I think it’s best if we don’t continue this relationship the way it has been going. Either we get some help or we agree to move on. Interrupting what appeared to be Robert’s proposal to Tina was selfish on your part. Whether you agree with the proposal or not, we were overhearing a private moment between the two of them. You should have let them have their moment. From this point on, I won’t keep up the Appearance that the relationship you and I are in is healthy” explained David.
“Thanks for being here with me, with us tonight” Robert said to David. “You know I wouldn’t have missed this night for anything in the world. You’ve talked about this business as long as I’ve known you and I’m glad it’s finally a reality for you” said David. “Sorry about you and Olivia” chimed in Tina. Laughing, David said, “no, you are not. But I’m happy for the two of you. This business and you are making Robert smile like a kid in a candy store and I’m here for both. Congratulations on your engagement and to the success of the business! cheered David.
