“Sorry man, I won’t be able to make it to the gym for the game on Thursday. Just wanted to give you a heads up so that you’ll know to get another player” spoke Robert to David as they were leaving his parents store. “Why not?” asked David. “Mom has invited Tina over for dinner” supplied Robert. “She’s meeting your parents? This must be serious” questioned David. “Not the type of serious you’re talking about. Mom and Pops just want to thank her for getting her friends agency involved with sending them help for the store” stated Robert. “I saw the new helper and how organized the store is when we were in there. I thought maybe you’ve been over here helping because it’s been a while since I’ve heard your complaints about your life” taunted David.
“There you go. What has Olivia done now? You only gripe at me when you’re upset with her about something.” asked Robert. “Man please, I want to know about you and Tina. Is it really serious? You’ve been slacking on our game times since the night I gave you her number. And Olivia mentioned something to me about this woman that she and her friends have been seeing you all over town with lately” stated David. “Olivia mentioned?” Why would Olivia be concerned with who I’m dating?” queried Robert. “So you two are dating? And is this dinner with your parents on Thursday her actually meeting your parents as your girlfriend or future wife? demanded David. Laughing, Robert asked, “What has Olivia done now?”
Defeatedly, David responded, “She wants to get married. Especially if you’re getting married to someone you haven’t known as long as I’ve known her. I told her that’s no reason for marriage. Besides, when would I have time to plan a wedding when I’m always working. That’s when she started whining about how much time I spend working when we could be out on the town like you and Tina. Man, this woman is wearing me out. You can’t be about to marry Tina because I’m not ready!” shouted David. “Ready or not, one day I do plan to marry Tina. And it doesn’t matter if your girlfriend is jealous of that fact or not. You need to really check her this time because marriage is serious business and getting married because you are jealous is stupid and childish.” explained Robert.
“Tina and I hit it off from the first night I called her. We talk about everything. When I told her about my parents problems with their store, she helped to find a solution. Not tell me I wasn’t doing enough. When I talk to her about my business plan, she offers sound advice. Not think about how much money she can get out of me. We are seen all over town by your girlfriend because she’s okay with being out without you while spending your money. Tina and I enjoy each other’s company. I wouldn’t trade our relationship for the one you have with Olivia for all the money in the world. Maybe you need to think more about what you want in that relationship rather than trying to give her something that only she wants” remarked Robert.
