“I’m pregnant” stated Stacy to Malcolm. “What? Whose is it?” responded Malcolm. “Whose do you think?” declared Stacy. “Why am I even telling you? I should just leave. That way I don’t have to see you walk away from my life or our baby’s life” stated Stacy. Walking away from Malcolm, Stacy heard him half heartedly say “don’t go”.
Seeing the hurt on Stacy’s face was all that Carter needed to see. He got up and walked off too. Had he stayed, he would have seen Stacy come back in and continue rehearsing with Malcolm for the charity play they were performing for the Women and Teens group next month. But seeing how affected Stacy was because of the insensitivity of Malcolm made Carter wish he’d taken the opportunity to spend more time with her when he had the chance. Now it seems she’s dating someone and apparently has gotten pregnant.
“Man Stace” stated Malcolm, “You almost had me ready to accept that baby for real. These teens are really gonna see how serious having a baby before you’ve grown in your full purpose and potential can affect your life.” “I truly hope they will” chimed in Stacy. “For once the seed has been planted, life as they know it will never be the same. I know my life has forever been changed” Stacy thoughtfully stated.
“Carter, what’s wrong with you?” asked Stacy the next day as she caught up to him walking aimlessly around the park. “Nothing is wrong with me” replied Carter. “I want to know what’s wrong with you? Why would you friend-zone me but give Malcolm things he has no right to have either? Didn’t you tell me that you weren’t ready for that type of relationship when I asked to get to know you better?” angrily relied Carter.
