The Cure

During these unprecedented times that we are in, I was watching a YouTube video where these parents suspected that their young child may have the Corona virus. They took the child to be tested but there’s a 24 hour wait for the results to come back. That night, the mother was cradling the child as she slept in their bed. The mother stated, “I want to catch whatever she has so that my body can produce an antibody that I can breastfeed to her. I thought the mom was crazy for wanting to catch the virus AND that she wanted to possibly die with the child if the child did indeed have the virus.

The next morning during my quiet time, I talked to God about what I watched and how I was feeling about it. He showed me the parallel of what the mother was willing to do for her child and what Jesus has already done for us on the cross. That there’s no time in our lives when something is trying to overtake us that there’s not a Cure already available to us. Only thing is, is that it’s tied to our relationship with Jesus. The same way that mother cuddled that child, we have to know that we are in the arms of a loving Savior who already has the antibody; we just need to be near enough to receive it.

What’s keeping us from receiving the antibody we need for everything that comes against the life Jesus died for us to have? Our Flesh. It’s the one thing that we at times refuse to get control over so that we can act out of obedience to the directives that God has given us so that we may experience life and life more abundantly. I refuse to allow my flesh to keep me from experiencing all that God has for me. Don’t allow your flesh to keep you from receiving the Cure you need.
